Royal Power Solutions Carol Stream Headquarters Exterior

The first half of 2020 has certainly challenged our families, our communities and our way of life. As the global pandemic impacts the health and livelihood of people around the world, we continue to adapt.

Last Friday, the state of Illinois – home of our Carol Stream headquarters – entered phase 4 of “Restore Illinois” thanks to sustained declines in cases, deaths, positive rates and hospitalizations from the coronavirus. And 2,000 miles away, our colleagues in Queretaro returned to work May 27 following the Health Ministry's guidelines for automotive manufacturing.

After implementing extensive safety and health protocols, our Carol Stream plant – deemed essential at the onset - remained operational. In the past three months, our team focused on collaborations – sometimes virtually – to innovate new power connectivity solutions. During this time, we have:

  • Designed and built seven new stamping dies. Our inhouse tooling expertise has been a Royal hallmark since our founding and sets us apart from the competition;
  • Conducted Royal Power life-cycle testing of High Power Lock Box (HPLB) terminals and connectors for a major American auto manufacturer with outstanding results;
  • Introduced new equipment and testing capabilities at our Henrik Freitag Innovation Center;
  • Established new production lines to manufacture High Power Lock Box terminals; and
  • Increased design, tooling and production capabilities in Queretaro.

And Q3 also promises to be a period of innovation and expansion as we look to:

  • Unveil the Infinity Series connection system, a breakthrough product developed to replace eyelet connector shortcomings and failure points. This new extremely high pull-off and retention strength connection system also provides a guaranteed CPA lock with visual and quality system checks.
  • Preview 25 new battery parts for EVs designed in collaboration with major manufactures; and,
  • Attend the Battery Show should health and safety guidelines allow.

With a more subdued July 4th celebration this weekend, I am reminded that in the 244 years since our nation was founded, Americans have been called on time and again to meet adversity head on. And each time – ingenuity coupled with hard work, innovation and compassion -- helped us engineer solutions to move forward with strength, resilience and wisdom.

Happy 4th of July. And from our family to yours: Be safe. Stay vigilant. And please, wear a mask.
